More and more people of Philippines are using mobile internet. Rising popularity of the smart phones, tablets, and other non- computer Web- enable services are encouraging them to do so. Filipinos believe that smart phones and mobile internet are far more accessible, affordable, and easier to use mobile internet services, said the chief of wireless advisor Orlando. This development in mobile internet with Filipinos is due to the overseas trend fast catching up among them. Mobile internet in Philippines is still in its early stage for example, about three million subscribers account for the bulk of mobile Internet usage. The worldwide market of mobile internet grew 45.6% a year on year in the third quarter of 2011 according to the international data. There are around two million more subscribers with 3G feature phones or smart phones who are not yet regularly accessing the web on the go.

Digital Audio Broadcasting, or DAB, is a kind of technology for digital radio that is becoming increasingly popular in several countries. DAB is an improvement of the old FM system, and many new electronic devices incorporate the technology such as the DAB radio with iPod docking station. There are several benefits of DAB radio, especially when it is mixed with new audio technology such as the Apple iPod.

A major benefit of DAB radio is that it provides more features for users. For example, DAB radio instantly and automatically tunes into all available radio stations so that it saves the user time and trouble for having to find them. Some radios even allow listeners to pause live broadcasts so that they can listen only when it's convenient for them. Another feature of DAB radio is the transmission of radiotext in order for real-time information to be received by DAB radio users. Examples of radiotext that can be sent and received include song titles, news, events and the audio genre.

When DAB radios are combined with an iPod docking station, the functionality of the device is further increased, as the user can choose and play songs from their iPod, while using the speakers of the radio and charging their iPod simultaneously.

Wimax technology was recently introduced to Hawaii, and it promises to offer wireless internet access in more locations than ever. Wimax technology allows you to use your laptop or other mobile device to connect to the internet from up to 30 miles away from the nearest access point.

This coverage exceeds the coverage offered by most cell phones today. The Wimax standard is still evolving, but even though it's not totally defined yet, it is already being tested in cities like Honolulu as a fallback to the standard WiFi service. Wimax technology works when a radio operating on Wimax receives an inernet connection which may be ricocheted through another access point in a so-called mesh network. The access point radio translates WiFi frequencies which are readable by laptop wireless cards.
